Who I am

I’m a designer-artist exploring the liminal spaces in between art, music, dance, and technology.

Currently, I’m the Product Design Lead at Vara, where I work at the intersection of design and AI, studying how people interact with algorithms and advocating for a human-centric AI design philosophy.

Previously, I led design for a health-tech startup focused on mental health, crafted the brand and consumer-facing features for an online mattress-in-a-box company, and worked at a design studio where I created brands and experiences for small and large-scale businesses.

While completing my Master’s degree in interaction design from SUPSI, my research explored machine-to-machine interaction, drawing a parallel to human perception and biases that arise in interaction. In my own creative practice, I use dance as a way to inform design, explore spatial sound as a medium of expression, and create visuals that represent sound.

Most recently, I’ve been exploring the interface between AI and ethics, feminist design qualities, decolonialism, and alternative (slow) AI narratives.

I chose to be a designer to

Understand people better and to bring positive change to their lives.

Transform complex problems into simple solutions and to distill ideas into their purest form.

Bring beauty into this world and to channel my inner creativity for the greater good.

Other explorations

Dance & symmetry

Training in a classical Indian dance form called Bharatanatyam I learnt about dance as a celebration of symmetry.

One is designing space with one’s body when one dances and through the body’s invisible lines, one is able to understand body and spatial geometry.

Psychedelics as medicine

I am an advocate of Psychedelics as medicine to bring about personal and collective healing in this world.

Since 2019, I have been a member and contributor of Psychedelic Agora — a Berlin-based community of womxn sharing their personal narratives, and interest and knowledge regarding psychedelic experiences.

AI as design material

How might we use AI as a design material? How might we de-bias human beings when using AI systems? I am interested in finding answers to these questions and in learning from and educating other designers on the topic.
